1988
Lagakis Frozen Seafood began its commercial journey in 1988, founded by Athanasios Lagakis. Initially, operating out of a small workshop in the Rentis area, the company quickly gained recognition and consumer preference for its products. It soon became clear that this endeavor had far greater potential than originally anticipated.
1989
Just one year after its founding, the company responded to the growing demand of a market that recognized how, with the right selection and processing conditions, frozen seafood could deliver the authentic taste of fish and shellfish to every table. This realization led to the company’s first major expansion.
1994
A landmark year. The company moved to its privately owned facilities on Pavlou Mela Street, where it remains to this day. With new infrastructure, the construction of state-of-the-art refrigeration chambers, storage areas, and the establishment of an in-house retail point, every customer gained the ability to inspect the quality of the products firsthand, directly from the source.
1996
Committed to meeting the latest European Union regulations, the company expanded once again, simultaneously renovating its existing facilities. These strategic upgrades positioned it as one of the most advanced and well-equipped seafood processing units in terms of technological infrastructure, as recognized by the relevant authorities.
2015
Breaking new ground in the Greek market, the company launched a pioneering range of retail products for supermarket distribution. The goal was clear: to set new standards in taste, nutritional value, and packaging aesthetics—modernizing the way frozen seafood takes center stage at the everyday dining table.
